RENTX collects personal data provided by customers through its website, third-party websites, applications and other means, related to any enquiries, bookings, rentals or purchases made within the scope of the services provided. Personal data may be obtained directly or through service providers, business partners, discount sponsors, subcontractors, advertisers and booking channel providers.

The collection of personal data comprises the following categories of data:

1. a. Personal Data: Personal data collected from the client through the website, applications, third party websites, requests for information, bookings, rentals and purchases.
2. b. Web data: Personal data collected from the customer related to computer access.
3. c. Rental data: Personal data collected from the customer in the context of car hire.
4. d. Data collected by rented vehicles: Data collected as part of car hire, using car data systems.
5. e. Sensitive data: Data relating to health, genetic or biometric data, when linked to an individual.

Data is collected via the website and mobile applications managed by RENTX, kiosks, social networks, third-party booking websites, brokers, telephone contacts with customers, direct in-store purchases, membership programmes, agencies and service providers.

Refusal to provide personal data may result in disadvantages for the customer, insofar as certain Personal Data is indispensable for the hire of our vehicles. However, refusal to provide Personal Data will not result in legal consequences for the customer, unless otherwise stated.

3. Purposes of Personal Data Collection

The personal data collected by RENTX fulfils the following purposes:

1. a. Contractual operations and services: Data collected in the context of booking, hire, contract, invoicing, assistance and for the purposes of communicating with the customer.

   Legal basis: Collection of information essential to the conclusion of the car hire contract.

2. b. Marketing campaigns: Customer data in the context of publicising marketing campaigns, special offers and promotions.

   Legal basis: Data provided with consent. At any time, the customer may request cancellation of subscriptions to marketing or promotional campaigns.

3. c. Third parties: Data transmitted to third parties for bookings, partners, collaborations, etc.

   Legal basis: Data shared with the customer's consent. At any time, the customer may request that the sharing of their personal data cease.

4. d. Compliance with the company's legal obligations: Data collected in the context of possible legal proceedings, fines and administrative offences, terms and conditions, protection of legitimate interests, company security and rights, etc.

   Legal basis: Fulfilment of legal obligations to which RENTX is subject and protection of legitimate interests.

5. e. Vehicle data collection systems: Data collected as part of vehicle control and localisation.

   Legal basis: Data collected with the client's express consent.

4. Retention and Security

RENTX keeps its customers' personal data until it is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected or otherwise processed. The retention period, defined by law, for commercial documents, which include accounting documents and records, including invoices, is 10 years. During this period, the data may be subject to restricted use under internal procedures if its processing serves no other purpose.

All personal data collected by RENTX is protected by security procedures against unauthorised access and disclosure.

5. Consent, right of access, rectification, updating and deletion of data

RENTX guarantees the right of access to data that directly concerns the client, who may update or correct it, port it, delete it, restrict its processing or oppose its processing at any time, without jeopardising the validity of the data processing carried out up to that point.
