Before you fly
About 24 hours before your arrival, you may receive a link to complete online check-in. Completing it in advance saves time on arrival, so keep an eye on your email, including the spam folder.
Save the phone numbers above and have your booking number ready. The main driver will usually need a valid physical driving licence, a passport or ID card, and the payment card named in the confirmation.
If your flight lands outside opening hours, contact us before you travel. Late or early pickups need to be arranged in advance, and an out-of-hours fee may apply.
Step-by-step pickup at Ponta Delgada Airport
1. Collect your luggage and exit arrivals
Ponta Delgada is a compact airport, so this part is usually quick. Once you have left the arrivals area, your car is only a few steps away.
2. Turn right and walk to car park 6
As you leave the terminal, turn right and walk the short distance to car park 6 (P6). This is where the team will meet you with your car.
3. Check the car with the team
The vehicle check is digital and usually takes just a couple of minutes, with photos taken around the car. Walk around the car with the team, make sure any existing marks are recorded, and take your own photos too, including the fuel gauge.
4. Ask the key questions
Before driving off, check the fuel policy, what your cover includes, who to call in an emergency, and exactly where and when to return the car.
5. Set off
Adjust your seat and mirrors, set up your navigation and start exploring. Ponta Delgada city centre is only a few minutes away.
City centre and office pickups
If you selected Ponta Delgada Centre as your pickup location, follow the meeting instructions in your booking confirmation and contact the team shortly before your pickup time.
If you selected the office, head to the 2ª Circular (Via Rápida) ring road. The office is at the Galp Laranjeiras fuel station, 9500-353 Ponta Delgada.
Returning the car
Return the car at the location and time shown in your confirmation. For airport returns, let the team know when you are on your way, allow time to refuel if your fuel policy requires it, and leave plenty of time before check-in closes. The team will check the car with you and you can walk straight to departures.
Mountain roads and bad weather can slow you down, so avoid planning a long drive on the morning of your flight.
If your plans change
- Flight delayed? Let the team know as soon as possible, especially if your new arrival time is outside opening hours.
- Breakdown or accident? Make sure everyone is safe, then call the 24h emergency line.
- Need more days? Ask before your original return time, subject to availability.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a rental desk inside the terminal?
You do not need to queue at a desk. The team meets you at car park 6, a short walk to the right of the arrivals exit.
How long does pickup take?
If you have completed online check-in and have your documents ready, the car check itself takes only a few minutes.
Can I return the car somewhere other than where I collected it?
The return location is set in your booking. Contact us before your trip if you would like to change it.
